Will passion make you alive again?

14th march-2015, I reached home at 7:45 PM. Being a girl in such a male dominated society it’s obvious to be asked,” Eti belka samma kaa gathis?” I replied,” Mummy ma aja YUWA ko program ma gathey ani tespachi anamnagar gaye euta kaam le.” That work was related with my passion. It was the usual routine of my parents to ask where I had been whenever I arrived home late. But today it was different. That one joke my relative made, made me more dedicated towards my passion.

I always wanted to host programs (especially informal programs). I still remember that first day when I hosted “Earth day” program at king’s college. I was totally shivering even to hold the Mic. Due to nervousness I spelled the name of the guest wrong for two times. I even forgot the name of one of own teacher from King’s college. I apologized saying sorry for three times. I was totally blank but anyhow I ended the show. Even that situation made me to keep the Mic aside and host as if I was giving a presentation in class. After the program, I never thought I’d host any program in my life again but there was one of my best friend and my mentors of king’s college to support me. I don’t know what he saw in me after such mistake but again he told me to host another show which was “Rangoli competition”.

Day by day, I fell in love with emceeing. I got to host programs in different events organized by Amnesty International Nepal, Nepal youth Network, Inauguration of King’s public speaking club, on the spot MC during the promotion of “Mukhauta movie”, launch ceremony of Glocal Khabar where Mr. Paras Khadka was invited as a guest, King’s Royal valentine Eve 2015 which was sponsored by LG, I was able to host. I know every time I made different mistakes but i always gave my best to minimize those mistakes and made another mistake so that I can learn more and be better than yesterday. Since I’m #traventurefreak, I would love to host a travel show like “Ghum gham” of Mr. Bhushan Dahal, Programs that we can watch in TLC, FOX HISTORY. I would love to explore different places and see every nook and corner of this beautiful world. For this dream today I came up with an idea while I was in a micro bus today. To enhance my skill, to learn and experience more no matter what I’ll follow my passion.

Suddenly, my mom shared those talks of relative with me. When one of my relative cracked a joke in front of my parents saying,” Timro chori le ta jagir khana thaleko re ni ho? Kati kamaunchey chori le?” It made me go crazy. Obviously, I felt bad. But that generated the stronger energy to do more. Today I realized, passion is something you can’t live without. No incentive in this world will attract you to work on your passion. Yes, I have made lots and lots of mistake when I have hosted programs but I’ll never give up. I’ll always give my best to be better than yesterday. I’ll go under many embarrassing situations, I’ll take that pain when someone makes fun of my passion, and I’ll challenge it with my every little step. Even there is no one to support me; either it may be my relatives, my own family, and my friends I’ll keep going. I’ll make mistakes and learn. Responsibility? I know them and they’ll never act as a demotivating factor for my passion. It’s my duty.  No, I don’t want to prove them but will obviously try to make them realize what happens if you make joke of someone’s passion.

Thank you for providing me such energy to do more for my passion. Thank you for all those compliments and feedbacks, every time after the end of program whenever I hosted. There are some people who still believe me and my dream. They feel I can do more and they never stops supporting me. Thank you!!! Crazy me! For the first time my passion made my eyes watery.

A positive change...

After watching this interview, Not only in this case, Before reaching to any conclusion we need to know what is the main cause. We have right to speak doesn't mean we just analyze the case from our perception. These panel discussion between the documentary maker of India's daughter
Leslee Udwin, Indian politician(BJP), social activist Kiran Bedi,Indian lawyer designated as a senior advocate and a politician (BJP) Pinky Anand, National secretary of BJP Vani Tripathi followed by Nirbhaya's parents should be watched by all who give any results or conclusion on case like this.
I'm a 18 years old girl from Nepal and I've reached to a conclusion," Every people on this globe should change their mentality positively to advocate on any case, to bring peace and not only give their perception but analyze the situation from it's root level. No matter if they are from High officials level, law makers, victims, culprits everyone is responsible to bring change positively. This earth is our home, lets be a family, lets bring peace."

BBC documentary Nirbhaya's Indian daughter

And I wrote an article nearly two months ago with the related case.

Khyati Shrestha, a 19 year old girl was raped, not only once but again and again and at last she was murdered. The post-mortem report showed that she was beaten to death by a rod. One of my friends Prashamsha gave a presentation on Khyati’s case at the #PresentationStuffs program held at Edushala. After her presentation, some of the audience cried, some held their opinion. For a couple of days, some may remember Prashamsha’s words but then as time passes these issues will fade.

Another international case 2012 (Delhi Gang rape) - a 23 year old girl was beaten and gang raped in a private bus in which she was travelling with a male friend. There were six others in the bus, including the driver, all of whom raped the girl and beat her friend. She died from the injuries thirteen days later while undergoing emergency treatment in Singapore. This issue generated national as well as international media coverage. The news caused me to shiver.

These are just two examples, where people forget humanity. There are lots and lots of cases like these. Just a few days ago, my female friend was walking on a road early morning around 6AM. As usual she was waiting for a microbus for her college but a guy stopped his bike in front of her and told her that he would drop her. At first she refused but when she found that he was her school friend, she got on his bike. An innocent girl trusted a guy. Again, the next morning that guy called her. She was scared, shivering and blank. When she was out of her house for the college, there was that guy in a car. He came out of his car pulled the hand of her. She was being harassed. At this point how can a girl trust or believe that the guy was helping her as she was late for her college. She was helpless. She could have slapped but she was afraid of this society, the culture we are following.

A female’s body is their prized possession and no man has got the right to touch it without her permission. We live in a society where women are still undermined and objectified and treated like trash. How can a woman ever be safe in such societies? Harassment does not necessarily need to be physical. Trust me even the stares of some men are so crude and absurd it makes you feel downright vulnerable and unsafe.

With a little bit of courage, I’m writing this just if it brings some changes in our culture where we can find humanity inside everyone. Harming others, violence is always a great issue and as I said earlier they fade like fog gradually. Don’t we want our sisters to live a life? Aren’t they humans? Are they dolls? What if we set a culture where everyone could speak about their right and no one judges them? Isn’t this possible? Let’s not just be poor excuse for a human and have some humanity!

Being boyish girl

I was single child for my family till I was seven years old. I don’t know what culture my Mom and dad gave me those seven years but people say my behavior, attitude are like that of a boy.

During my childhood, my dad never bought me those Barbie dolls, huge teddy bears rather I used to play with guns, cars, bike and some mathematical toys. I used to feel jealous when all girls used to be in a group and play while I would be the only girl to play with boys. I was in love to watch “Sonpari”, “Shaka laka Boom Boom” just like other girls. Oh my gosh! I used to manage time even to watch wrestling. Johncena, Undertaker and a female wrestler Lita were my favorites. I still remember that day when I played arm wrestling with a boy named Ravi and I won. I think I was in class 2 or 3. Wow! I was the only girl who won in arm wrestling that was such a proud moment for me.

Yes, I listen to Guns and roses, Metallica and different other bands. Being a girl doesn't mean I need to go for those stupid Hindi songs, or some love songs of Taylor swift. Everyone have their own taste for music. Hmmm! Let me say you one thing. I can see my friends who don’t even know how to cook food but honey my mom and dad taught me to cook food so that I could never be hungry in life. You said, didn’t you? A girl should know how to cook.

I can see girls around me wearing high heels and short skirts, one piece, lots of makeups but I’m comfortable with a cool t-shirt or check shirt, a black choose pant and converse. Being comfortable in your outfits is how you can have your own style. Being a girl, I don’t think I should mandatorily wear one piece or girly stuffs.
I don’t want to cry on small stuffs like girls are known for crying over. Are you jealous of me that you don’t have a strong Girlfriend or sister like me? Pity on you! Call me a boy I don’t care. But keep in mind I’m a strong girl not like a boy. You are a looser for not having sisters or girlfriend like me. I’m sorry to say but I’m proud of my parents that they taught be to act strong on different circumstances rather than crying in front of a boy. Yes I obviously cry when my beloved ones are in trouble or when I lose. I don’t like to show my tears in-order to get sympathy from a boy rather I go to a washroom and cry for hours.

I love travelling, adventurous stuffs, fictional movies, the vampire diaries. Say anything, but I’ll still listen to my favorite bands. Yes, I love to meet different new people and talk with them. Yes, I don’t even know how to wear a saree, Yes, I hate jewelries and girly ornaments, I loathe crying in front of a guy, one piece, short skirts and high heels I’m not comfortable with them. I’m a simple girl trying to seek satisfaction in life rather than showing off. I’m a strong girl.

Don’t make an excuse for not having me in your life.  Are you Jealous? I’ll pray that your daughter once gets told by someone,” Your behavior, attitude is like a boy.” Don’t be ashamed. One day you will be proud of your daughter.
